Have you ever had a falling out with someone or a group of people and later had a chance to start to build the relationship again? Thank goodness for second chances and the will to make good use of them. I’m on the eve of such a chance and I hope to make the best of things.
Up to now I’ve been easing back into things in small doses. However, tomorrow starts a journey where I will be in close contact with a pair of people that I had a falling out with along with another who loves me so unconditionally that I don’t ever feel it would be possible to have a falling out with her. I’ve gently and patiently sowed seeds of kindness. It is my hope that finally those seeds will grow up into something that would be the basis for a new understanding.
I have come to accept that each person responds according to their gifts. And I realize it is up to them to respond because I can not make them respond. I can only choose how I react to how they respond.
Worst still is to take away their ability to respond by preemptive action of my own. Unfortunately acting preemptively does not avoid problems, but rather causes new ones. No one wishes their courses of action to be restrained or worse yet to require some action to be taken.
Patience is a wonderful thing because it gives the future the chance to work things out in her own time. I anticipate with great joy the potential for the next few days.
