There has been a Landslide Vote for one and only one story to finish up into a book. That Story Is: Beauty and the Vial: Tested!
I’ve already begun to make changes to how the story is structured. Instead of the three book format that I had adopted I started by making all three parts into a cohesive whole. I split the original story out on it’s own to preserve it but I do not plan to follow it’s plot for Beauty and the Vial Tested. What was the first ‘book beginning’ has now become the Prolog to the new book Tested. I presently have the third book beginning chapter as the Epilog,
I am going to write a brand new Epilog later to reflect the new nature to the story Tested which elements from the Agape Duro region close to Lamur GA become essential. Having the ending not written yet will provide me with the freedom to write an ending more fitting with the brand new story that I have been telling which is different from the short story.
I hope that those of you who did not send in a vote are not disappointed that one of the other stories didn’t get selected. Sequels are hard because it is difficult to recapture the magic of the original book since by definition the highs and lows already covered can’t appear in them.
The stories in The One universe are both easy and difficult. Angels of the One is going to remain on it’s own retelling the story of John 9 from the viewpoint of the Chatting with Angels characters. I am very glad that it is going to stay on BCTS because I’m currently writing a non fiction book that I am going to have to unpublish What Would Jesus Do which I am pulling whole into it as an allegory to illustrate my point of view.
The Late Unpleasantness should be easy to complete since it draws on the Bible book of Daniel as a basis for its speculative fiction story. however since it does not tell it by quoting the bible like WWJD does then I feel that it is publishable.
Likewise I feel like Chatting with Angels might be publishable if I can bring it to a close. Chatting with Angels was designed to fictionalize my life story and as such is designed to be an unending serial. I am so far behind recording my life that I have a ways to go. I feel like that I can break it up into books based on the flex points of my life.
When I finish with Tested, TLU and Chatting with Angels that will complete all the stories that I have begun to tell on BCTS. Next I will tell new stories but I’ll finish them before I start posting.
